Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United States. The Corcoran Group is a New York-based real estate brokerage. In 2001, the company was sold to NRT at $66 million. Corcoran quit the firm shortly thereafter. Corcoran is among ABC's original Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in each seasons of Shark Tank. Since February of 2020, she's signed 53 deals on the show, with the biggest one being $350,000 in 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater, New Jersey, the second of 10 children in a working class Irish-Catholic family.  Her mother, Florence, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran's childhood. Her family was sometimes dependent on food deliveries from a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran recalls her father as someone who was drunk sometimes and was rude to her mother. Corcoran was a struggle in school and was eventually diagnosed with dyslexia. Corcoran attended an Catholic elementary school in her community and started high school at St. Cecilia High School, Englewood. Corcoran dropped several classes during her first year and transferred to Leonia High School where she was a D student.
